Artist Mahala Preudhomme is a 21 year old, self taught, visual artist. Mahala's phenomenal work is influenced by Caribbean and African culture, women empowerment movements, and her daily experiences. Mahala incorporates bright colors, thick brush strokes, and bold lines throughout her paintings. Her work stands out due to these three components and she is often recognized for these characteristics. Throughout Mahala's journey as an artist she has realized the significance art plays in society.

The artist truly believes the world wouldn't be the same without art and hopes to be able to show people who haven't been introduced to art how important art really is. Within the next few years Mahala plans to travel the world creating murals and inspiring others to create. I am Leonard Anderson an inspired comic book artist from Jacksonville, Florida.  I also, do graphic design such as logos and flyers and I have traditionally created portraits and murals.  I am pretty much self taught. I never went to school to become an artist.  I have been doing traditional art well over 19+ years and digital for 2 years now.  I use to be one of those people who use to bash digital artist thinking the computer did all the work.  Man oh man, I was wrong. When I first started digital art I thought I could replicate what I did traditional but nope, didn’t happen.  I had to work at it.  Since I had a good foundation with traditional I learn the ins and out of digital art fairly quickly than most.

My name is Joshua Leonard. Born in Miami Florida and a military kid. Lived in Alaska, Maryland, Mississippi, and now Atlanta. Was a football, baseball, and track standout and was heavily recruited, but injuries set me back. I've been drawing since I was in kindergarten. I'm currently in animation school at the Art Institute of Atlanta where I carry a 4.0 GPA.

I've always loved cartoons, and wanted to be part of them, but in an industry that isn't very diverse, I had to think outside the box, which is how and why I came up with Team Supreme. I have several friends who are autistic, so I was able to study and get info on their children's actions, or lifestyle. I chose to make a cartoon based on special needs kids because it has never been done before, I'm different myself, and I plan to teach in my cartoon as well. My goal is to make Team Supreme a huge brand with clothing, toys, bags, games, etc...

I was born in San Diego, California and I’m currently living in Atlanta, Georgia where I am pursuing my dream as a full time visual artist.  I started drawing when I was 5 years old.  I didn’t start painting until after I’d graduated from high school back in 2002.  I have no formal training in painting, so I acquired the necessary skills on my own from reading books, YouTube tutorials and experimentation.
 

The style in which I paint is what I would like to call perspective realism and I’ve also experimented with various elements of abstraction within the beginning processes of my paintings. Although I’ve started out using oil paint, I’ve grown to love acrylics and is currently my main medium of choice. I love the simplicity of acrylics, but yet it allows me to make my subjects and the environments as complex as I would desire it to be. For me, there’s no limit to what I can achieve within my work.

I believe that there is an art to conceptualism through the gathering of information from observing my environment, social or political circumstances around me, personal interests and journeys experienced along the way. That is where I develop most of my stories. I’ve been granted opportunities to showcase my work at galleries, art festivals, short films, coffee shops, spoken word events and even a music video.

Victoria Smith-Howard is an artist who lives to create and express her life through creation and she goes by the name Torii Le'Chelle. Born and raised in Indianapolis, her craft began as soon as she could hold a writing utensil. However, in 2015 her natural talent elevated as her physical and mental drive to create did too. As a recent 2018 graduate from IUPUI, Torii is ready to take those gifts even further. In June 2018 Torii Le’Chelle Creations became a registered LLC and Torii began to work vigorously to expand her brand through clothing, accessories, body painting, photography and more! She has hosted painting events, sold many works of art nationwide, booked shows across Indiana and continues to expand her craft. 

Torii Le’Chelle, and exploratory painter an artist, paints using multi-mediums to sometimes create 3-D artwork, and leaving room for the world to interpret their own understanding of each piece. Canvases range in size and texture from tightly woven wool to wood and metal. Torii’s art centers around Blackness and the Black community but can be appreciated by all. She paints from within and focuses on Self-Love, Self-Awareness, and Intimacy.

Kwame Braxton is a Visual Artist from Jackson, MS; who has been in the creative realm for nearly  his entire life. He drew some of his first inspirations from many different comic illustrators in the early 90's. Artist like Jim lee, Dawud Anyabwile, and Chris Cross solidified his strong  passion for illustration. He got his start doing cover art for various local writers and poets. He published is first comic strip in early 2015 entitled "God of Kings". Later, he joined The Greater Jackson Arts Council which allowed him to further his career as an artist. His work has been collected by members of Jackson City Council.  He has also painted various land marks in his hometown. He believes that art entails a level of therapy that can be healing to any mind who choices to engage it, and has dedicated his talents to inspire the intrinsic creator in us all.

Kwame understands that in order for art to be a healing force it also has to be inclusive of all people, regardless of their shape or size. This is why he has created a series of painting that pay homage to plus size women of color. “Throughout art history great painters have paid tribute to plus size women. From the early rock sculpture of the prehistoric times on to the early painting of the Greek Goddess such as the Venus De Milo on to the so-called rubenesque paintings of the 1600s, artists have always paid tribute to plus size women. In parts of Africa, plus size women are looked at with great admiration and respect, unlike here in the West. The series is meant not to offend anyone, merely to pay homage to the plus size woman.”

Born in Newark NJ, Dwayne Jones AKA b1ghAz has been doing paintings & graphic art for 5 years. A self taught hobby which was picked up for the love of fine arts.

Born in raised in the Ironbound section of Newark, he also attended Vailsburg High school and after graduation enrolled in the United States Navy.

In the year of 84 he became Newark’s first Hip Hop artist under the name Hassan & 711 On Easy Street Records with a world wide hit entitled City Life performing with groups such as RUN DMC, The Force MD’s, The Fat Boys, Kurtis Blow, just to name a few.

In 2012 b1ghAz teamed up with his partner Susan Wallace to form SPOYLERZ.com. A graphic art company specializing in making graphics for shirts, cups, plaques and other things.

Residing now in Hilside NJ, b1ghAz has sold several paintings and is looking to expand his creativity even further trying to make SPOYLERZ.com a household name.

Perry, Georgia native DeWayne Kendrick has rapidly become one of Middle Georgia’s most formidable visual artists since exploding on the local art scene in 2012. During his Macon debut this past July, Kendrick partnered with Roasted Café, Poetic Peace, Real Talk Hip Hop and B.L.A.C.K. Poets on behalf of a mid-state medical patient in need of a kidney transplant. The result was a successful fundraiser fueled by the sale of several of Kendrick’s original oil and acrylic paintings during a silent auction. That collection featured a combination of portraits, everyday scenes and abstracts that drew high praise and positive criticism from both media outlets and those that purchased them.

​

Kendrick has a special eye. He uses this natural ability to create vivid images that jump off the canvas with a realism that is driven by his love for and use of bright colors. His works’ magnetism is additionally rooted in his determination to provide art lovers with pieces that spark conversation. “A visual artist should compel onlookers to engage one another about the works before them,” said Kendrick. “My goal is to create pieces that draw the viewer in visually and cause them to be moved emotionally.”

Kendrick continued to showcase his talent at the Historic Douglass Theatre on Halloween night of 2012 during an event he dubbed “The Masquerade”. His effort to provide a fun, family oriented environment encased in a sphere of safety and surrounded by thematic pieces of his creation and choosing, proved successful as well.

​

Kendrick will elevate during Black History Month 2013. A partnership with the Tubman African American Museum and the Macon based communications outlet Visionary Communications will have his works on display during an event at the Tubman entitled “Memory Lane: An Artistic Journey Through Black Cinema”. This time Kendrick’s interpretation of memorable moments from eight of the world’s most beloved Black cinematic masterpieces will be the focus. All eight pieces will be on display during the entire month of February and will be available to purchase. “Black cinema is a very good topic to be explored, especially during Black History Month. ” Kendrick expressed. “My goal is to capture and convey scenes from these movies that strike an instant cord with the viewer as they provoke pride, inspiration and conversation.”

Kendrick holds an Associate Degree in Art from the Art Institute of Atlanta. He works as a volunteer instructor of art with local municipalities, individuals, groups and organizations in between painting for a living. He is the founder of his professional arts vehicle Kendrick Brown Productions and currently resides in Macon, Georgia.

I started drawing at a very early age. It was a pastime while my family was on vacation. I'd sit in the back of the station wagon and watch the rolling hills and telephone posts. Then I'd try to remember what I saw and draw it. Many times I had to use my imagination but I'd get frustrated. The images I saw at 65 mph didn’t look like my picture, yet my mother always offered support and encouragement. She would always tell me to practice!

​

Throughout my younger years, I continued to practice but never received any formal training. It was a hobby that turned into a passion. I would draw anything, but not before thoroughly studying my subjects. I'd look for details such as shading, dimensions and color. Backgrounds interested me too (in the later years). It became important to fill the page with art.

​

My first painting was oil. A landscape of something I remembered as a kid and a lot of imagination. I remembered the wire fence post and yellow tumble weeds of West Texas. It was my first painting and I was proud. Not as proud as my parents were, when a local banker decided to frame it and place it in his office. That’s when the art bug really got me. I was 16 and felt like I was on top of the world.

​

The next ten years were filled with drawings. I learned to do layout and design. I got a part time job at the local newspaper because they saw some of my work and knew my father. I produced a few magazine designs and a few logos for local businesses. I followed artist like Norman Rockwell and Patrick Nagel. I admired their use of bold lines. I tried to duplicate their style and bold colors. I felt I was on my way of becoming an artist but something was missing.

​

Now 25 years later, I've found what was missing. I have developed a certain style and use of color that expresses the way I see art. My art is very different and the expression of color is important. I love the bold colors, dark lines and splats. The subject is based on what is seen or felt at the time. I choose various subjects based on a vibe and I paint “As I See Art”. I still have a lot to learn and I have been fortunate to be in the company of some wonderful artist such as Annie Lee, Frank Frazier, Charles Bibbs and Clarence Pointer. I can only hope that you see my vision “As I See Art”.

Self taught artist Sia Wodniok was born in Nabburg/Germany, and raised in Frankfurt/M. Early on she was surrounded by a very creative family, especially her maternal grandfather who was thought to have "golden hands". His inventions earned him several patents and he could do anything, from carving a madonna to building a pergola.  She studied social work in Frankfurt/M, earned a BS at Texas Woman's University,with a minor in Biology, as well as a B.S.N.

Sia expressed an interest in art at an early age and worked with a variety of mediums: silver, enamel, folk art painting, printmaking and published short stories in literary magazines. During her career as an R.N. case manager, she started focusing on becoming a professional artist. Now she works predominantly in the medium of Assemblage and Mixed Media Art, while exploring other art forms.  

Her favorite work is driven by external forces, such as global and social issues. Sia often pushes the boundaries with her work, creating dialogues. She has participated in Assemblage Art workshops by Michael deMeng, Andy Skinner and various Mixed Media Workshops. Multiple pieces of her works were elected as part of the Newest Originals Curation Category and Newest Emerging Artist, by Artslant, N.Y. She lives and works in Houston, Texas, with her husband, Michael Larkin, her dog,Taco and her cat, Mouse.

Manasseh Johnson is a visual artist who specializes in portraiture/realism. He's a New Jersey native but currently works out of studio in San Antonio, TX. He works in all mediums but it wasn't until 12 yrs. ago that he started using colored pencil and mastered the medium.
